This position will support a Department of Energy office. The mission of this office is to provide centralized infrastructure planning processes; real estate services; program management for operations of facilities, maintenance, recapitalization, disposition, and line-item construction and perform project and contract management of line-item construction and major items of equipment. 


This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop, plan, and implement IT project strategies that align with the objectives of the Clean Energy Security Program, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Methodology Development: Apply innovative project management methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery, adapting to project needs and ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between IT teams, business partners, and senior management to ensure clear communication, alignment of project objectives, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks proactively. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance against metrics and benchmarks, providing regular updates to stakeholders and implementing adjustments as necessary to achieve project goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams in a dynamic environment, fostering collaboration, driving accountability, and encouraging innovation and professional growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in continuous learning and keep abreast of emerging technologies and project management trends. Recommend and implement improvements to project management processes and tools.
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner) are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects is required.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and business intelligence.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and offer innovative solutions to project challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Requirements:
 
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain or currently hold the necessary security clearances required for the project.
  • Willingness to travel as required by project demands.
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
