Work Control Planner / Construction Engineer

Management Solutions is seeking a Work Control Planner or Construction Engineer to support our Oak Ridge/Knoxville team.

The Work Control Planner / Construction Engineer will be responsible for the following:
  • Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area.
  • Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.
  • Ability to walk down a work package and foresee issues with fit, access, safety or similar technical challenges. The ability to translate design details, drawings, or work instructions into physical work activity and vice versa. The ability to think through the specific tools, parts, and consumables to complete a task.
  • MS Office, need to be able to resource/find information – Spreadsheets and SharePoint sites are regularly used
  • Constructability experience, Mechanical/Electrical/Construction background preferrable

What you will need…
  • US Citizen (due to the nature of client engagements)
  • Technical Degree preferred but will consider relevant experience in lieu of degree [preference degree plus 5 years, or 10 years experience in a similar role for the Department of Energy]
  • Planning and Scheduling experience
  • Construction experience
  • Excellent communication, client-management, and people skills
  • High degree of self-confidence and determination
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities and assignments without diminished effectiveness
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Location:
  • The position will be based out of Oak Ridge/Knoxville, TN area with occasional trips onsite to Oak Ridge, TN.
