who we need… 

Management Solutions is seeking a Jr. Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work closely with the business, to deliver data-driven analytical insights and BI solutions of varying technologies that will help support and drive the decisions of the business. You will become a subject matter expert (SME) of our data systems, understand what data is available to the business, and help enforce data governance across our systems and BI products. This position is based in Knoxville, TN or Aiken, SC.  

Responsibilities:
 
  • Partner with the business units to gather technical requirements and implement BI solutions. 
  • Develop and customize Power Apps and/or BI solutions to the needs of the client with an ability to assess tradeoffs of useability, efficiency, and efficacy. 
  • Maintain current reporting, subscriptions, and permissions in SSRS, Power BI, and other BI platforms. 
  • Develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other data visualizations in SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and other BI platforms.
  • Unify business logic and KPI definitions across all BI solutions.
  • Maintain metadata and custom mappings used in reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate with the Data & Analytics team to develop and document data warehouse collections and datasets needed for BI reporting and platforms. 
  • Analyze and understand source system data for validity and completeness, troubleshooting basic data integrity issues, and document findings. 
  • Maintain detailed data dictionaries, documentation, and source control for all BI processes and solutions. 
  • Provide end user training and support for BI platforms.
  • Remain current in profession and industry trends, learning new platforms as needed. 

Qualifications: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree required OR a graduate from reputable data/AI/coding (MOOC based) bootcamps.
  • Bachelor’s degree specifically in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another analytically challenging field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience with SQL Server, SSRS, Microsoft Power Platform Tableau, and/or Tabular data modeling preferred.
  • Proficiency at developing Power Apps and using Power Automate to streamline business operations. 
  • Familiarity with SharePoint functionality. 
  • Beginner understanding of dimensional data modeling (star schema). 
  • Moderate experience building dataflows, datasets, dashboards, and other visuals in Power BI, including use of DAX to create complex KPIs. 
  • Ability to develop an understanding of table relationships in a RDBMS by reverse engineering views and stored procedures. 
  • Familiarity with cloud analytics, data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, Kimball. methodologies of data warehousing concepts and design, and DDL & DML operations. 
  • Proficiency with Excel in a reporting and dashboarding capacity (Power Query, cube functions, array functions, etc.) 
  • Working knowledge of Python. Familiarity with Python’s data ecosystem of tools (pandas, numpy, matplotlib) for data processing and analytics. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
  • Desire to learn and support new technologies and systems. 
  • Experience in DOE environment is preferred.
