Job Summary: 
Management Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Business Analyst to support delivery of mission-critical services within a federal IT environment. 

This role focuses on cybersecurity data analysis, performance tracking, and reporting, supporting the development and delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) and standardized reports for client leadership. The Mid-Level Cybersecurity Business Analyst will work closely with senior analysts, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting of cybersecurity posture and operational effectiveness. 

The position requires strong analytical skills, experience in IT or cybersecurity environments, and the ability to translate technical data into clear, actionable insights. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

KPI Tracking & Performance Analysis 

  • Support the establishment, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cybersecurity posture and operational effectiveness.  

  • Analyze KPIs such as vulnerability remediation rates, system compliance with security baselines, security tool coverage, and mean time to detect and respond to security incidents.  

  • Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.  

Reporting & Data Analysis 

  • Develop and maintain standardized cybersecurity reports for client leadership on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, as required.  

  • Contribute to reports that include executive summaries, progress against planned activities, risk and issue logs, current security posture, and key metrics.  

  • Ensure all reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with program requirements.  

Security Briefing Support 

  • Support preparation of security briefings for client leadership and stakeholders, including gathering data, developing content, and creating presentation materials.  

  • Assist in summarizing threat landscape, emerging vulnerabilities, security posture, and significant events or trends.  

Data Integration & Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with senior business analysts, cybersecurity teams, and project controllers to gather, validate, and interpret data from multiple sources.  

  • Ensure consistency and alignment of data used for reporting and analysis across systems and teams.  

  • Support integration of cybersecurity data into centralized reporting tools and dashboards.  

Governance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Support development and refinement of reporting processes, templates, and data standards.  

  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and workflow efficiency.  

  • Ensure alignment of reporting activities with client strategic objectives. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • 3–6 years of relevant professional experience in business analysis, data analysis, cybersecurity analysis, or related roles.  

  • Experience working with data sets, including data validation, transformation, and analysis.  

  • Experience supporting KPI tracking, reporting, or performance analysis in IT or cybersecurity environments.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.  

  • Experience using data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms).  

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technical and program management staff.  

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure data accuracy and integrity.  

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting federal agencies.  

  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and IT governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).  

  • Experience supporting IT or cybersecurity operations programs.  

  • Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment. 

  • Possessing an active Q, L, or Top Secret clearance is strongly preferred. 

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract and/or security clearance requirements. 

Working Conditions: This position is primarily performed in an office environment or a home office setting. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate a computer and standard office equipment.
