The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience designing responsive, accessible experiences for Microsoft Power Pages, with additional expertise in Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps. This role requires strong UI/UX fundamentals and an understanding of the capabilities, design patterns, and constraints of Power Pages and the broader Power Platform.

The successful candidate will translate complex business processes and requirements into simple, intuitive digital experiences while collaborating with Power Platform developers, Microsoft 365 solution teams, and business stakeholders. The role also requires experience designing for SharePoint and familiarity with Microsoft 365 services, integration patterns, and digital workplace experiences.

The anticipated level of effort for this opportunity is approximately 30 + hours per week over an estimated 9-month period.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate complex business workflows, data, and requirements into clear, efficient, and user-friendly experiences.

  • Design accessible Power Pages portals using responsive layouts, reusable components, forms, lists, role-based access, and Dataverse integration.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, mockups, user flows, and design specifications that can be effectively implemented within Power Apps and Power Platform capabilities and constraints.

  • Collaborate closely with Power Apps developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and translate effectively into production applications.

  • Establish and apply reusable Power Apps design patterns, components, navigation structures, and visual standards to promote consistency across applications.

  • Design and implement engaging, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces for power platforms, SharePoint, and other internal and external portals.

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand user needs, gather requirements, and define design objectives.

  • Maintain consistent branding and user experience across Power Apps, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and related enterprise platforms.

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and design reviews to validate design decisions and continuously improve application experiences.

  • Apply accessibility standards and inclusive design principles throughout the design process.

  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform capabilities, Power Apps design practices, UI/UX trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, solution architects, project managers, business analysts, and content strategists to ensure seamless implementation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise applications, digital portals, web-based dashboards, or similar user interfaces.

  • Demonstrated UI/UX design experience with Microsoft Power Apps is required, including Canvas Apps and/or Model-Driven Apps with an understanding of their design differences.

  • Ability to design user-centered experiences using modern tools (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.), including wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and UI specifications.

  • Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, information architecture, and enterprise application design, with experience designing for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 required.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to balance user experience, technical feasibility, and business requirements across Power Platform and related enterprise systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience partnering directly with Power Apps developers and/or Power Platform solution teams to take designs from concept through implementation is strongly preferred.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating Power Apps UI/UX work, enterprise application design, and/or portal design is required. Portfolio examples should demonstrate the candidate’s ability to simplify complex workflows and create intuitive enterprise user experiences.

  • Understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React is beneficial.

  • Experience designing applications backed by Dataverse, SharePoint, or other enterprise data sources.

  • Experience conducting usability testing specifically for workflow-driven business applications.

  • Understanding of Power Platform governance, environment considerations, and application lifecycle concepts from a designer’s perspective.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 05/31/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
