Role Overview:
This position will work closely with a Department of Energy office. The mission of the Energy Department is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.
Apply experience and comprehensive knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and policies pertaining to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act to determine information suitable for Proactive Disclosure.

Working Conditions: This is a remote position with the expectation to work 8 am – 5 pm Eastern Time. This position is primarily performed in an office environment or a home office setting. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods.

Apply experience and comprehensive knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and policies pertaining to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act to determine information suitable for Proactive Disclosure.
- Create and maintain a FOIA Public Reading Room.
- Identify and prioritize content types and formats to ensure consistent redactions and disclosure of information on public facing reading room.
- Implement processes to track, manage, and report on FOIA requests made three or more times and posted to the Reading Room.
- Assist with other FOIA duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Government, Business Administration, Arts, Science or related field.
- 5+ years of technical experience in processing complex information requests under the FOIA and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in website creation, design, and maintenance.
- Ability to adapt procedures, tools, and resources to meet client needs with minimal oversight.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with federal records management activities
- Experience with legal and regulatory compliance
- Department of Energy (DOE) FOIA experience
